(Nantucket, MA) In a statement released July 1, 2007, Tom Mielko announced he will be closing the doors of his gallery on South Wharf, Nantucket, on October 15th. The popular artist, who specializes in Romantic Realism, opened The Tom Mielko Gallery in 1973.

Although Mielko and his wife Eileen are permanently relocating to Santa Barbara, where he has his West Coast studio, he promises that as yet unspecified Nantucket venue will offer his paintings. “Nantucket has played a big role in my life for four decades,” the Romantic Realist stated. “I want to thank everyone who has supported the gallery and made it a success.”

A farewell reception for Mielko will be held on Friday, August 3rd, 2007, between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM. The public is welcome, and light refreshments will be served.
